There’s an iPhone application for every situation these days but one of our favourites for the boating world has to be iRentaBoat. It’s the first international boat rental and yacht charter app on the iPhone and it’s free to download.

The application makes renting a boat easier than ever. Rather than wasting time on the phone or searching hundreds of different companies online, you can find your perfect rental boat by specifying the type of boat you’re interested in, size, your budget and destination (anywhere in the world). You will then get a list of different boat, yacht and sailboat companies based near you or your desired holiday location. Each listing includes a detailed description, photos and price of the boat.

Once you’ve found something you’re interested in, you can send an enquiry to the chosen company / broker / owner or call them directly. You can also saves your preferences and receive a boat ‘ping’ (update) when your preferred charter boat becomes available (you gotta love modern technology). Plus you can get charter tips and weather updates for your chosen destination.

The database of boats is quite small at the moment and a few key destinations are absent but we reckon it could become one of the key go to apps for the boating world.
