“Green is the only possible future” goes the slogan of yacht design company Green Yachts and they’re showing the yachting world how to do it, pioneering the concept of environmental boats to create a sustainable living environment for owner and crew.
The company only works with natural, eco-friendly materials or materials from renewable, non-toxic sources and innovative technical solutions that require minimum energy. Their boats’ installation systems guarantee termic and noise insulation and are designed in such a way to maximise the natural daylight. The company has also developed a Special Bus system to manage all electrical equipment onboard including lighting, heating, blinds and security systems.
But this doesn’t mean their yachts aren’t attractive to look at. Judging by their latest designs, they strike the perfect balance between aesthetics and sustainability and they’re developed by architects and engineers who’ve previously worked for renowned Italian shipyards such as Intermarine, Azimut-Benetti and Viareggio Super Yacht. For example, Green Yachts’ Zero 33 represents a new generation of small sustainable boats with low consumption. It features a hybrid propulsion system and interiors made from eco-friendly, all natural materials. Similarly their Sail 40 Zero is powered by solar panels and wind generators that are stylishly integrated into the sleek design.
Let’s hope Green Yachts inspires other yacht builders out there to adapt their ways and go green.
