Princess Yachts Completes First Hull of 40M Yacht

Everyone’s been talking about Princess Yachts this week as they’ve just completed the first hull of their new 40M yacht, their biggest boat to date. The motor yacht builders have been employing resin infusion technology for hulls and other major mouldings over the last few years and this new vessel is reportedly the largest resin infused hull in the world. This will have a desirable impact on the final weight, rigidity and performance of the new boat.

According to Princess, the moulding of the hull also has major benefits for the manufacturing process itself by cleaning up the operation and dramatically reducing emissions which supports the company’s environmental initiative. In other green achievements, Princess Yachts recently gained the RINA Green Plus (Y) notation for V Class and Flybridge yachts (their entire range of craft below 90 feet).

The 130-foot Princess 40M yacht will accommodate 12 guests in complete luxury along with eight crew members in separate quarters thanks to its deluxe tri-deck layout. It’s the second model from the yacht builder’s new M Class range, following the 32M launched earlier this year at the London Boat Show.

This fantastic new boat is being produced at the company’s South yard Site and is due to be completed early Spring 2012. Watch this space.
