Sealine to Launch C48 at Southampton Boat Show

If you’re in the market for a new luxury cruising boat that’s compact and manageable, it sounds like Sealine’s innovative C48 Coupe is just the vessel. The company are describing it as “a ground breaking modern design and the ultimate solution to “turn-key” boating” (i.e. there are no covers to undo or canopies to unfurl). All you need to do is jump in and go.

The helm and saloon of the yacht are fully enclosed by a signature wrap around screen with an electric sunroof providing full or partial access to the elements and stunning panoramic views. Meanwhile the temperature controlled environment makes it suitable for cruising in a variety of destinations and climates including the Mediterranean, Asia, the Middle East, North America and Scandinavia.

The interiors have everything you’d want from a dinky house boat and have been finished in a natural light oak. Sliding patio doors link the cockpit to the saloon, creating a roomy socializing area. The L-shaped seating area and three stools can seat up to six people comfortably while  the removable table also allows for alfresco dining in the aft cockpit next to an integrated wet bar, grill and barbecue, plus a sink with hot and cold water. What’s more, the open plan galley comes fully fitted with a fridge, oven and hob and space for a washing machine.

As for the sleeping quarters, the light, airy forward cabin is spacious and features a double bed, TV and ensuite shower and toilet. Due to the position of the forward bulk head, the midship master cabin has full headroom across the width of the cabin with a comfortable walk around area and panoramic hull windows while the third cabin has two bunks and lots of storage.

The hull is based on the proven SC47’s hull design and is fitted with Volvo’s modern IPS 600 pod drives with joy stick control. When compared to traditional stern drive models of this size, the C48 can offer fuel savings of between 25 to 35 percent and exceptional manoeuvrability.

The C48 will be launched at the Southampton Boat Show alongside the company’s new SC42, the second new model for 2011 and part of their three-year strategy of creating eight new boats.
