Bimba Sjoholm Makes her Mark in F4S

With all the hype surrounding Formula 1 powerboat racing (in which the Qatar team is strongly in the lead this year) people tend to overlook the other leagues of Powerboat racing such as the F4S which is proving equally exciting this season. In fact last week’s F4S GP of China meet in Liuzhou was arguably one of the best marine races to date this year.  Sweden’s Bimba Sjoholm wowed crowds with her performance securing two consecutive wins in the event.

Following a slow start, the highly skilled female driver managed to reach third place within three laps behind Team Atlantic’s British driver Matt Palfreyman and Qatari driver Khaled Al Shamlan. After eight laps, she’d overtaken Al Shamlan and just pipped Palfreyman to the post in the last five minutes gaining a healthy lead over the finish line.

We’re always pleased to see women at the top of the points table. We don’t reckon it will be long until we see the young Bimba taking to the F1 course.
